A 1998 survey by the University of Wichita’s Business Analysis department identified Employee Targeting as one of the most successful tools available to combat the growing problem of

Put simply, designs and information residing on the Employee’s workstation during periods of inactivity are increasingly likely, through the widespread use
of colour and high-resolution graphics, to provide an ocular focus away from any paper-based solutions with which they may be dealing at any time.
Ted Landseer, CarpSoft’s Focus Division Chief Executive, relates how he first identified the problem. “One day,” he explains, “I was trying to fill in my timesheets,
when a bright red logo left on my PC screen distracted me in the corner of my eye. Two hours later, that timesheet was still not finished!”

screens.

- A powerful Workstation Sensor runs continuously for 24 hours a day on each client machine, using a hidden algorithm to analyse keystrokes and mouse movements to calculate the
exact moment when a workstation has not been used by an employee for a predetermined length of time - e.g. 5 minutes.
- When the workstation is thus deemed to be inoperative, a Task Transferrance module initiates the Graphical Masking function to change the workstation display to black.
- The Workstation Sensor continues to analyse both keyboard and mouse and, at the very first sign of a resumption of workstation-based activity, signals the Graphical
Masking module to restore the screen to its previous state.
