Lucy the Oryx checks on a new addition to the family.  A present from our friends at Chernobyl Zoo, Lucy is unusual in that she has no eyelids.

Despite being born with pointed legs that sink into the ground, the Oyrx calf is healthy and happy. 

There are no male Oryxes at the Zoo, and Lucy’s pregnancy was a bit of a surprise. Spontaneous reproductive cell division is not unknown around here, but resultant growths very rarely take on the shape of a complete animal, particularly one that bleats.
